Art, Imagine,Create

Hello friends...

Hope you are all good!
Wow its been such a busy week...
Last weekend was my birthday,
 (thanks for the good wishes!)
so I was very spoilt by my family and friends,
I had a really lovely day, but now Im playing catch up in a big way!

Anyway, today I wanted to share this Andy Skinner inspired make....
I'm still working my way through my Deco-art/Hochanda shopping spree..
(thinking I may NEED some more supplies very soon!)

I created a triptych using three Tando tags backed onto some card
I coloured them with Deco-art media paints
(yellow green light, cyan and Pyrrole red)
When dry I stencilled some Titan buff paint through Andy skinners stencils
The bolts are also from Tando ( Industrial elements)
The stars are actually from a christmas decoration
I applied texture sand paste to the star, when it had dried
I painted them using burnt umber and Quin gold to get a cool rusty look.
The circles are actually old curtain rings....

I really like the grungy look so this was right up my street!
Please feel free to leave a comment, I really appreciate each one!

Right my desk looks like a disaster zone...looks like I'm going to be busy!
(I may need help!)

Have a great weekend!

Happiness....

Hello friends...
Hope you are all good!
Today I wanted to share with you this recent make...
It absolutely threw it down with pouring rain on Saturday, which meant it was a cozy, don't even think about stepping out side, hog the radiator sort of a day....so thats exactly what I did.
I sat at my desk, hogged that radiator and created just for me....
This turned out to be a real mash up of some of my favourite products thrown together....
heres what I created...
I always love to use lots of layers
This make has loads!
I started by using a layer of gesso through the stencil,
when it was dry I painted lots of layers of paint
I used crackle paint for the inside of the pocket watch and filled it with a heart.
The bolts were inspired by Andy skinner, I really love that rust effect...Im addicted!!
I also added some infusions ( be warned you only need a tiny amount)
To finish I mounted the card onto one of my vintage books.

I really got lost in the process of putting this one together
Creating art just for me is so good for the soul....

I think this one is a keeper!

feel free to leave a comment I appreciate each and every one xx

Have yourselves a great week...

journey

Hello friends...
Hope you have had a lovely week!
I wanted to share a quick make I recently made
using some of my Hochanda shopping spree from last month!

This tag uses lots of Decoart-media paints (grunge set)
After watching Andy Skinner, I was so inspired...
I've still got lots of experimenting to do with them but
I'm really loving the effects you get with them....
I've also used some Tando/Andy skinner creative tags and
Industrial elements (bolts and washers)...one of my new favourites!!
The chevron stencil is also by Andy skinner, along with the stamp set...
The key is one of my own vintage finds, wrapped in rusty wire
I love grungy/industrial so this is was great fun to create!

As always feel free to leave a comment....it's always great to know you popped by.

Have a great weekend!

Memories...

Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
Ive just returned to work after the summer holidays...
sigh...its taking a while to get back into the swing of things but I think I'm getting there, slowly...

During August I watched my very talented friend Kate Crane do her arty thing with her magic hands on the Hochanda shopping channel....wasn't she good??
(if you ever get a chance to take a workshop with Kate....you must, she rocks!!!)
Kate was using some Tando creative products and Deco- art media to create a planner....
I told myself that I didn't need anymore mixed media stuff, I didn't need anymore mixed media stuff, I didn't need anymore mixed media stuff....
but by the end of the show I had ordered new mixed media stuff!
(cheers Kate!)

Then towards the end of August I watched some of Andy skinners shows on Hochanda,
How good were they??
So you know where this is going right??
Yes....I'm a salesman dream!
So After running up a nice bill on my credit card I thought I best put to use some of the products I bought and share with you my latest make...

The base is a wooden plaque that I picked up from hobbycraft
I used some of the techniques that were shown on the shows....
The background stencil is a crafters workshop, I used modelling paste through it
The bolts are from Industrial Elements ( Tando creative) and are coloured with the Deco-art media grunge set from the show that Andy Skinner did on Hochanda, I love the transformation the kit goes through....its very clever!
If you are a follower of my blog you will know that I like to add my own embellishments, so I added an old rusty key and some really old telephone cord cable.....
To finish I added some rusty wire and added some stitching to the photograph.
I also added some of my favourite Remnant rub-ons and the word 'memories' from Tim Holtz Big chat words.

I'm still very new to the using the products and still have lots to experiment with (and learn!) but Ive really enjoyed the process!

If you would like to leave a comment then please, feel free....
I really appreciate each and everyone!

I will be back soon
Have a lovely weekend!
Bye for now
