Tim Holtz Ideaology Project 1

Hello friends
I hope you are all good!
I'm super excited to share with you one of my makes for
Tim Holtz Ideology for Creativation which has just taken place in Arizona.
A big thank you to Tim and Paula for the invitation to take part.....I loved every minute!

I wanted to combine my love of vintage with a little grunge,
so used Tim's abandoned papers along with some distress crackle (my favourite!)
I also added some rub on's to the left corner of the frame

I then selected a Photo Booth photo, framed it and added layers of the field notes ephemera
I love these butterflies, which I sewed into the frame
To finish I added some cord and a word token and tied it around the frame...
Here it is on show in the Ideology booth at creativation
They have a huge range of all the latest releases.
As always please feel free to leave a comment.... I really appreciate you popping by

I'll be back at the weekend with more makes
bye for now

Halloween

Hello friends

I'm back with another spooky Halloween make....
I took a vignette box and covered it using Halloween papers by Tim Holtz and distress it.
I lined the inside with the wallpaper.
I also added melted wax from a red candle to add another layer of spookiness!
I broke the fingers off the zombie hands by accident, (because I actually stood on them both!!) but like in my previous post I decided to make use of those fingers by making them look like they were coming out of the box

I was trying to suspend the skulls with thread so they would moved with the box but wasn't having a lot of luck, so I  drilled through the skulls using a Dremel drill,,,(thank you to the lovely Stacy for giving me the inspiration to try this!) it finally did the job!

I then set about adding lots of the Idea-ology goodies to decorate the box....
I also wanted to used the damaged zombie hand elsewhere so I added it inside
corked dome... my dome had slightly cracked at the top so I carefully removed the glass using my Tim Holtz scissors, so it looks like it that hand is poking out...
I added more candle wax to finish!

Hop over to Tim's blog to see more spooky inspiration here
thanks so much for popping by

Something Wicked

Hello friends!

I hope you are all good!
I know its been a while since I blogged...but I'm super excited to share this 'Haunted'
Tombstone to get you in the mood for Halloween next month

I started with an Etcetera Tombstone tag, then layered it with papers from Tim Holtz and painted it with distress paints and vintage collage medium.
I then distressed a cabinet card from Idea-ology, painted up the found relative
and gave her a makeover....(the witches hat is from one of the witch photo's)
I then set about adding lots of Halloween Idea-ology...
The fingers on the broom are from the Zombie hands...I snapped them off as I wanted them to look like they were coming out of the cabinet card.
I coloured some of the mummy cloth using distress inks , de-threaded it a little and hung it over the top of the tombstone. To finish I added skull and bones and splashed of red distress paint!
more skulls and pumpkins were added along with an old key from my vintage stash!

I really hope you like this Halloween tombstone, please feel free to leave a comment, I appreciate you passing by.
All of the Halloween Idea-ology is available now, if you are in the UK, Art from the Heart are stocking it now....so get it before it goes!

Have yourselves a lovely week!
I'll be back soon with another spooky make

 Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
Today I'm sharing with you a make using the new Tim Holtz 3D texture fades,
this one is called foundry....its so cool, the detail is just amazing!
This started as a piece of white card, which I ran through my big shot
I then added layers of distress paints and inks
I Sealed it with collage medium
and added some words from small talk,
I then stamped some numbers using the Stampers anonymous Ticket booth set
to finish I added some of my own vintage elements and some of my favourite Idea-ology
The card was backed onto one of Tim's no8 Etcetera tags
The texture fades are available from Art from the heart (Link in my sidebar)
This is my new favourite for sure!

Vintage frame

Hello friends

I hope you are good!
I've been missing for a few weeks as life has just been super busy and I've got lots of things I need to do and not enough time....
I cannot believe we are nearly into June....time is flying by so fast!

Today I'm sharing with you, this framed hanging
The base is a Tim Holtz photo cabinet card, I covered it in wallpaper (also Tim Holtz)
When it had all dried I distressed it by ripping and peeling into it to give it that nice vintage, shabby look.
I then added a frame which i distressed, I also made a rusty wire frame to  frame the face.
I always like to add my own elements, so I added this old key, ruler and vintage lace
The words are clippings(Tim Holtz) and I added some old buttons
To finish it all off, I framed it with a panel frame from Idea-ology, which I had distressed using distress paints.

As always please feel free to leave a comment, I appreciate each and everyone
Have yourselves a great weekend

Follow your heart....

Hello friends

I hope you are all good!
Today I'm sharing with you a journal page...
Just lately, Ive noticed that time is running by so fast, everyday life takes over and sometimes I don't know if Im coming or going!

So today I made some time, just for me and put to use some of my lovely Mother's day presents that I received from my family....they've been sat on my desk for a couple of weeks and I finally got to play!

The background is made up of lots of gesso, crackle paste and old text,
Ive used a really mash up of different products for this page.
I used some Impasto paints from Finnabair, (chocolate and Aubergine) over the top of the gesso and crackle medium...
Then I added gold from a Gold leaf Krylon pen randomly to add some contrast.
The photo is from the Tim Holtz photo booth collection.
I then sewed into it and then framed it with some rusty wire.
I stamped some very faint stars (Tim Holtz) in areas of the background, love the hickory tones...such a subtle colour.
I wanted the staples to look rusty so I added some colour from Finnabair rust paste (love this product!)
The 'Follow you heart' words are from 7dots studio.....I chose these words as I sometimes  need reminding to do just that!

All of the products are available from Art from the Heart here

Thank you so much for passing by,
do feel free to leave a comment....I appreciate each and everyone!

Have yourselves a great week!

Creativation Idea-ology sample

Hello friends
Hope you are all good!
Just a really quick post today to share with you another
one of my samples that I created for Tim Holtz
Idea-ology booth at Creativation 2018

This was a lot of fun to create...
I used a printer tray as the base, covered it in a mixture of Tim's papers
I added one of the new collage frames along with a frame from the framed panels....I then
got to work using distress paints to grunge them up!
The background is made up of the Milk caps....  I love this paper doll boy with his dog ( painted using distress paints)
I then added some of the gears, facets and locks....all Idea-ology!
To finish I added rulers, some stitching and a clipboard
I hope you like the the sample
As always feel free to leave a comment,
sorry its a quick post....
I will be back very soon with the last of my samples
Have a great weekend!

Creativation Part 2

 Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
Many thanks for all the comments on the previous Blog hop...
Richele has announced winners on her blog here...
(Thank you Richele for organising the hop, it was so much fun x!)

Today I'm sharing 3 more of my samples made for the Idea-ology booth at Creativation 2018,
starting off with this clipboard...
I wanted to create a grungy look and set to work applying lots of distress paints and collage medium
To add a pop of colour I added one of the Milagro Adornments, along with the bird...just love these charms!
This next sample was created using a Vignette box, the new panel frames fit perfectly over the top to create a shadow box
The inside was decorated with ephemera, a paper doll and those cool clock hands and not forgetting that fabulous handle also from the new Idea-ology release!
This sample is also made up also using a vignette box, the inside is decorated with the new wallpaper, ephemera and paper doll
To finish I painted the finials and added them to the box, oh and added some stitching to the frame
These samples were really fun to create,
please feel free to a comment, I appreciate each and everyone!

I have more samples to share very soon so be sure to pop back!
Have a lovely weekend!

Etcetera...

Hello friends
Hope you are all good!

Today I wanted to share with you a grungy make....
This has been one of those projects that I had to step away from as I could of kept adding to it!
these tags are great, they come in various sizes and are perfect for  adding lots of embellishments to!
To start I coated the tag with a coat of gesso, I then added some fresco paint layers (Paperartsy) in green patina, smoked paprika, french roast and captain peacock.... these are my new favourites!
I stamped onto the tag using my Tim Holtz stamp platform (wow... this is a must have tool!) I stamped using Tim's foam stamps, when it was dry I sanded the numbers back to get a more worn look.
I then started to add lots of my vintage finds..... the orange ruler was 20p from a car boot, I cut it up to create a frame.  Around it I added lots of clock parts, Idea-ology and a vintage key from my stash
As I am a self confessed hoarder of stuff and I was looking for something to add to the middle....the radiator key was a perfect addition ( who needs a radiator key) I also added a square cut from one of Seth Apter dies and coloured it with rust paste.
To finish I added the bolts to the side, also given the rust treatment!
I'm the first to admit that I'm not very good at using colour....it always scares me but I have to admit I really enjoyed having a dabble...

As always feel free to leave a comment, I appreciate each and every one!

Have a great week!

Remember....

 Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
Wow its been a hot few days here in the U.K.
I hope you are enjoying the weather too, wherever you may be!

Today I want to share with you my latest make....
Sometimes it can take me forever to find the right photo for a project,
but today while I was moving some of my lovely junk around, this photo fell out and I found it on the floor....so I decided to use it and to try and bring the lovely lady back to life...
The gesso has been painted on a journal page, I tore lots of text from an old book and stuck it down....more gesso, paint and crackle paint were added....
I added some vintage lace from my collection and added some chit chat words (Tim Holtz)
The frame (Idea-ology) was painted with gesso then distress paint.
I love to collet things, so while out walking the dog I collected some twigs and moss and added some to the base of the frame.
I always like to add a vintage key, this one fitted perfectly!
To finish I layered the journal page onto some waxed paper, black card and then added some stitching

I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed creating it....
As always feel free to leave a comment, I appreciate you stopping by!

Have a great week
