Etcetera...

Hope you are all good!

Today I wanted to share with you a grungy make....

This has been one of those projects that I had to step away from as I could of kept adding to it!

The base is a Etcetera Medium tag ( by Tim Holtz)

these tags are great, they come in various sizes and are perfect for  adding lots of embellishments to!

To start I coated the tag with a coat of gesso, I then added some fresco paint layers (Paperartsy) in green patina, smoked paprika, french roast and captain peacock.... these are my new favourites!

I stamped onto the tag using my Tim Holtz stamp platform (wow... this is a must have tool!) I stamped using Tim's foam stamps, when it was dry I sanded the numbers back to get a more worn look.

I then started to add lots of my vintage finds..... the orange ruler was 20p from a car boot, I cut it up to create a frame.  Around it I added lots of clock parts, Idea-ology and a vintage key from my stash 

As I am a self confessed hoarder of stuff and I was looking for something to add to the middle....the radiator key was a perfect addition ( who needs a radiator key) I also added a square cut from one of Seth Apter dies and coloured it with rust paste.

To finish I added the bolts to the side, also given the rust treatment!

I'm the first to admit that I'm not very good at using colour....it always scares me but I have to admit I really enjoyed having a dabble...

Bleaching Technique.....

PaperArtsy Infusions

I hope you are all good!

Just a really quick post today to share with you how 

I have used the new Paperartsy Infusions...

(I'm a little late to the Infusions party....how rude of me!)

If you haven't seen them yet then you really need to give them a go......you won't be disappointed

 I got mine from country view crafts  here 

I used the infusions to create a negative print using a stencil....

(Ive got a how too you tube tutorial at the end of this post)

The Infusions look like this.....

really cool little bottles, you just piece a hole in the top of the lid and gentle  shake out the granules, a little product really does go a long way!

(to seal just pop a little tape over the lid so the granules don't escape)

For my hanging I used Emerald Isle, golden sands and A bit Jaded.... 

I just love the walnut residue left by the tiny granules....it gives a really cool vintage feel

Found girl....

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather,

its a gorgeous day here in sunny Shropshire...

Maybe because of the sunshine or the fact that its late spring, the fields where I live are filled with the brightest, rapeseed yellow ever....it must have had an influence on me to use more colour in my work......

(Those who know me well, know that I'm on the dark side....I pretty much always wear my comfort colour, black, black or more black!)

That really hasn't changed and probably never will but I have to admit, 

Ive really enjoyed experimenting with colour....

So today I thought I would share some subtle vintage colour, courtesy of Paperartsy fresco chalk paints....

To create the background I painted up an XL Manilla tag

I used lots of Fresco colours to create the background

Lilac, snowflake, yellow submarine, haystack, zucchini, bougainvillea, china, cherry red, tinned peas and mermaid  

I stamped over the paint using Papersrtsy stamp set Word plate 2 using Tim Holtz distress Archival (hickory smoke)

Then I started layering using some of my original vintage ephemera, 

along with some Tim Holtz Idea-ology.

To create the crackle I used Paperartsy crackle glaze with lilac and snowflake white fresco paint. 

The image is an original photo I found from an auction sale

 ( I'm always buying other peoples memories....hate to see them being thrown away!) 

I used my sewing machine to add lots of stitches too!

To finish I added some rusty wire to hang it from....

Vintage Ink and the dog...

Hope you are all good....

Hope you have had a good week...

My week has been really busy as in between work,

I decided ( on a whim)  to finally re-locate to the warmth of the house,

I love working in my shed but  have to say....the cold has beat me!

Anyway I thought I would share this make with you  

I really enjoyed creating this one.

I created the background using a brayer and lots Paperartsy fresco chalk paints

 The image is one of my favourites......

Its from Paperartsy Vintage Ink and the dog stamp sets here

I stamped used black Archival ink

I wasn't sure how the image would stamp out on top of the brayered layers of paint,

but I really like how it has given it a distressed/worn look....

I  added lots of stitching and layered it over another piece of painted card,

which I had also added some of Tim Holtz rub-ons to.

I decided to stamp out  another set of words and mount them onto 3d foam to give it some dimension.

Right I better clean up my desk as the big down side of being in the house is

I can`t shut the door on it and walk away (like I would of in my shed)

everyone who visits can now see how messy I am!

Paperartsy Hotpicks

Hello friends!

Hope you are all good!

Most of you will know that  I took a long break from creating and only recently

decided to pick up my blending tool and to get inky and painty again.....

I'm so glad I did.....Ive missed it lots!

Today I'm really excited to share some samples

that I've been busy working on for Paperartsy.

 The soldier photo  is an image transfer and not a stamp.....I used an original

photo and photocopied him, then transferred him onto cellotape
