Etcetera...

Hope you are all good!

Today I wanted to share with you a grungy make....

This has been one of those projects that I had to step away from as I could of kept adding to it!

The base is a Etcetera Medium tag ( by Tim Holtz)

these tags are great, they come in various sizes and are perfect for  adding lots of embellishments to!

To start I coated the tag with a coat of gesso, I then added some fresco paint layers (Paperartsy) in green patina, smoked paprika, french roast and captain peacock.... these are my new favourites!

I stamped onto the tag using my Tim Holtz stamp platform (wow... this is a must have tool!) I stamped using Tim's foam stamps, when it was dry I sanded the numbers back to get a more worn look.

I then started to add lots of my vintage finds..... the orange ruler was 20p from a car boot, I cut it up to create a frame.  Around it I added lots of clock parts, Idea-ology and a vintage key from my stash 

As I am a self confessed hoarder of stuff and I was looking for something to add to the middle....the radiator key was a perfect addition ( who needs a radiator key) I also added a square cut from one of Seth Apter dies and coloured it with rust paste.

To finish I added the bolts to the side, also given the rust treatment!

I'm the first to admit that I'm not very good at using colour....it always scares me but I have to admit I really enjoyed having a dabble...

Inspired by Seth....

Hello friends

Spring is finally here.....and its been a beautiful spring day here in the UK!

(It's also our mother's day too, so wishing you all a very happy, peaceful day!)

Today I wanted to share this make, inspired by the very lovely Seth Apter...

I'm a huge fan of Seth's work and Im always inspired by how Seth creates layers (check out his blog here) I was very lucky to meet Seth, earlier on in the year....honestly, I could of watched his demo's all day....such a creative soul and a really lovely chap.

So here's what I created...

I used Seth's limited addition paints  (set 2) from Paperartsy

I used lots of layers of paint, when I was happy with the background I used one of Seth's stencils (Transform from stencil girl) and continued to add ramdon layers.

I then stamped faintly with Seth's stamp set from Paperartsy (here)

Next I added lots of splatters.

The die cuts are from Seth's range of Spellbinders (here )

I coated them in Tim Holtz grit paste, then coloured them using the paints

Some of the die cuts were mounted onto some book text, then I added a butterfly from Idea-ology Botanical ephemera pack, which I sewed into place. 

To finish I added some more words from the book text and 

added a rusty key from my own vintage stash.

I really enjoyed creating this piece, I hope you like it too!
