Daylight dreams...

Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
Just popping in to wish you all a very Happy Easter...
I hope you are spending it with your loved ones and enjoying all the yummy chocolate!

I've spent most of my day journalling, drinking tea and relaxing with my family...its been bliss!
My desk however needs some serious attention, but it can wait for another day!

I started adding lots of Gesso, texture paste, stencils, layers of paints, and my new favourite.... the new collage Floral papers from Tim Holtz Idea-ology into an old book that I like to journal in.

I also used some of the Tim Holtz Rose design tape, distress crayons and word clippings
The numbers are from the stamp set Ticket booth
I added some embellishments from Idea-ology and the photo is from Photo booth set.
I also added some vintage lace from my collection.
This photo shows both pages....

All of the Idea-ology is available from Art from the heart here in the UK
As always please feel free to leave a comment I appreciate you popping by,
Have yourselves a lovely Easter break and I will be back soon

hugs

Follow your heart....

Hello friends

I hope you are all good!
Today I'm sharing with you a journal page...
Just lately, Ive noticed that time is running by so fast, everyday life takes over and sometimes I don't know if Im coming or going!

So today I made some time, just for me and put to use some of my lovely Mother's day presents that I received from my family....they've been sat on my desk for a couple of weeks and I finally got to play!

The background is made up of lots of gesso, crackle paste and old text,
Ive used a really mash up of different products for this page.
I used some Impasto paints from Finnabair, (chocolate and Aubergine) over the top of the gesso and crackle medium...
Then I added gold from a Gold leaf Krylon pen randomly to add some contrast.
The photo is from the Tim Holtz photo booth collection.
I then sewed into it and then framed it with some rusty wire.
I stamped some very faint stars (Tim Holtz) in areas of the background, love the hickory tones...such a subtle colour.
I wanted the staples to look rusty so I added some colour from Finnabair rust paste (love this product!)
The 'Follow you heart' words are from 7dots studio.....I chose these words as I sometimes  need reminding to do just that!

All of the products are available from Art from the Heart here

Thank you so much for passing by,
do feel free to leave a comment....I appreciate each and everyone!

Have yourselves a great week!

Dream Journal

 Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
I really cannot believe we are nearly
half way through March and it will soon be Easter....this year is flying by!!

Today I'm sharing with you my "Dream Journal"
created using the Eileen Hull travel journal die, along with a mash up of lots
different products that I have in my stash but have not had chance to use.
The journal was cut using mount board which then I painted with gesso...
Next I built up lots of layers of paint, I used a mix of distress and decomedia paints.
I painted using my fingers that way you don't get the brush marks. I then rubbed away some of the paint and repeated the process.
I added a layer of Rangers crackle medium and left it to dry.
The centre is made up using rusty wire, torn text, old watch parts, an optical lense and an idea-ology star, a vintage key and the words are from 7dots studio (paint chips)
Using the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Merchant set (one of my new favourites!) I stamped in Archival ink, I also added some of the number remnant rub ons and a clock face to the lense.
I really didn't have any idea how the journal was going to end up (I never do!)....but I really enjoyed creating the layers for it. I will put it to good use and journal some of my many hopes and dreams...
Thank you so much for passing by the little shabby shed...feel free to leave a comment, I appreciate each and every one!

Have a great week!

Possibilites....

 Hello friends

Hope you are all good....
Its half term here in the UK,  so Im off to enjoy some very precious friends and family time....

Before I go, I wanted to share some recent journal pages I created in an old vintage book...
Ive used lots of gesso, texture paste and put to use some clothes/parcel tags/torn text pages
I used distress paints and crayons to add colour and layered the texture paste using Tim Holtz stencils
To add more texture I layered lots of vintage lace
The photo is a tim holtz photo booth on (Idea-ology)
I added splashes of distress paints and lots of staples...
I really enjoyed creating these pages....even though I clumsily managed to get a couple of fashionable  stripes down my new black jeans! (always the way!)

Anyway, have yourselves a lovely weekend/halfterm
feel free to leave a comment.... great to know you popped by xx

bye for now
