Tim Holtz Ideaology Project 1

Hello friends
I hope you are all good!
I'm super excited to share with you one of my makes for
Tim Holtz Ideology for Creativation which has just taken place in Arizona.
A big thank you to Tim and Paula for the invitation to take part.....I loved every minute!

I wanted to combine my love of vintage with a little grunge,
so used Tim's abandoned papers along with some distress crackle (my favourite!)
I also added some rub on's to the left corner of the frame

I then selected a Photo Booth photo, framed it and added layers of the field notes ephemera
I love these butterflies, which I sewed into the frame
To finish I added some cord and a word token and tied it around the frame...
Here it is on show in the Ideology booth at creativation
They have a huge range of all the latest releases.
As always please feel free to leave a comment.... I really appreciate you popping by

I'll be back at the weekend with more makes
bye for now

Halloween

Hello friends

I'm back with another spooky Halloween make....
I took a vignette box and covered it using Halloween papers by Tim Holtz and distress it.
I lined the inside with the wallpaper.
I also added melted wax from a red candle to add another layer of spookiness!
I broke the fingers off the zombie hands by accident, (because I actually stood on them both!!) but like in my previous post I decided to make use of those fingers by making them look like they were coming out of the box

I was trying to suspend the skulls with thread so they would moved with the box but wasn't having a lot of luck, so I  drilled through the skulls using a Dremel drill,,,(thank you to the lovely Stacy for giving me the inspiration to try this!) it finally did the job!

I then set about adding lots of the Idea-ology goodies to decorate the box....
I also wanted to used the damaged zombie hand elsewhere so I added it inside
corked dome... my dome had slightly cracked at the top so I carefully removed the glass using my Tim Holtz scissors, so it looks like it that hand is poking out...
I added more candle wax to finish!

Hop over to Tim's blog to see more spooky inspiration here
thanks so much for popping by

Something Wicked

Hello friends!

I hope you are all good!
I know its been a while since I blogged...but I'm super excited to share this 'Haunted'
Tombstone to get you in the mood for Halloween next month

I started with an Etcetera Tombstone tag, then layered it with papers from Tim Holtz and painted it with distress paints and vintage collage medium.
I then distressed a cabinet card from Idea-ology, painted up the found relative
and gave her a makeover....(the witches hat is from one of the witch photo's)
I then set about adding lots of Halloween Idea-ology...
The fingers on the broom are from the Zombie hands...I snapped them off as I wanted them to look like they were coming out of the cabinet card.
I coloured some of the mummy cloth using distress inks , de-threaded it a little and hung it over the top of the tombstone. To finish I added skull and bones and splashed of red distress paint!
more skulls and pumpkins were added along with an old key from my vintage stash!

I really hope you like this Halloween tombstone, please feel free to leave a comment, I appreciate you passing by.
All of the Halloween Idea-ology is available now, if you are in the UK, Art from the Heart are stocking it now....so get it before it goes!

Have yourselves a lovely week!
I'll be back soon with another spooky make

Follow your ❤️

Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
As its Valentines day this week I thought
I would share a vintage inspired make with you...

I started with a scrap piece of wood, to which I added lots of layers of gesso and texture crackle paste, I then coloured it using distress paints.
Next I used some of the new collage floral papers (yep... I'm using colour!) onto one of the new large cabinet card frames using collage medium, I also layered the background
using some of the new wallpaper from Idea-ology.
Then I selected the photo from the found relatives pack and added layers,
stitching and some Idea-ology embellishments.

To finish I added a couple of butterflies and a word chip
and added a rusty wire to the wood to make a hanging.

As always please feel free to leave a comment, I appreciate each and every one
Wishing you a very Happy Valentines!

I will be back soon with more of my samples from the Creativation show!
best Wishes

 Hello friends

Many thanks for all the comments on the previous Blog hop...
Richele has announced winners on her blog here...
(Thank you Richele for organising the hop, it was so much fun x!)

Today I'm sharing 3 more of my samples made for the Idea-ology booth at Creativation 2018,
starting off with this clipboard...
I wanted to create a grungy look and set to work applying lots of distress paints and collage medium
To add a pop of colour I added one of the Milagro Adornments, along with the bird...just love these charms!
This next sample was created using a Vignette box, the new panel frames fit perfectly over the top to create a shadow box
The inside was decorated with ephemera, a paper doll and those cool clock hands and not forgetting that fabulous handle also from the new Idea-ology release!
This sample is also made up also using a vignette box, the inside is decorated with the new wallpaper, ephemera and paper doll
To finish I painted the finials and added them to the box, oh and added some stitching to the frame
These samples were really fun to create,
please feel free to a comment, I appreciate each and everyone!

I have more samples to share very soon so be sure to pop back!

Documented...

 Hello friends

Hope you are good!

Today I want to share with you a large ETCETERA tag
by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous
These tags are a base for any mixed media project and they come in various sizes. The tags are made from a Thickboard and are perfect for altering or collaging.
(They and all the other items used on this post are available from Art from the Heart here)
I love vintage and wanted to create an old vintage look.....
So I covered my tag with gesso then applied several layers of Rangers texture (opaque crackle) paste
When it had dried I applied distress paint using a dabber (ground expresso) wiping away away the paint with a wet wipe.

The centre piece (some grey board) was given the same treatment, but I also added
distress grit paste through some stencils to add more texture.
The photograph is from my own vintage collection,
I then added some stitching, a circle of rusty wire, a rusty old key and some words from big chat/chit chat.  The butterflies are from Tim Holtz  Botanical ephemera set and I added number rub-ons.
To finish I added a quote chip and some stars
I hope you like the project....as always feel free to leave a comment,
I appreciate each and everyone!
Have a lovely week!
Bye for now

Oxide tags....

Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
Its been another super busy week here.....with not a lot of free time to get inky!
However, I did manage to squeeze in a quick playtime using the Distress oxides....
I love, love, love the effects they give....the best way to describe them is its a bit like adding milk to your ink, they are a real game changer allowing you to create some cool backgrounds!
I had a play on two tags

For this tag I used fossilised Amber, faded jeans, cracked pistachio,
spiced marmalade and walnut stain
I built up the layers of oxides, I love that they don't mud,
you can still see the colour onto of each layer.
I then added lots of Idea-ology cogs....these were painted using texture paste
then coloured using the oxides
The man doll is from the Idea-ology paper dolls....his wings are from the botanical ephemera pack

For the next tag used the oxides to create a background and stamped using a text background.
I then added a layer of ranger crackle paste and left it to dry.
Next I added some texture using one of Tim's stencils with some grit paste,
when it had dried I used distress crayons and the oxides to colour the paste.
(note: the paste will pick up some of the oxide colour of the background too as it is distress!)
I then painted the girls using distress paint and crayons
I used cracked pistachio, walnut stain and fossilised amber in the oxides
The stars were punched out and coloured the same way
To finish I added some words from the Idea-ology clippings and framed them in a vintage optical slide from my own stash.

These tags were fun to create and were great to experiment with the oxides....
As always please feel free to leave a comment, I really appreciate you popping by

Have a lovely week
Bye for now

Memory....

Hello friends

Hope you are good!
I cannot believe how quick this week has flown by....
Time always flies when your having fun!

Today I'm quickly sharing this make...
I love, love, love using lots of layers of mediums to create texture and dimension.
I started by stencilling with Tim Holtz grit paste, I added some gesso, distress crayons, distress paint and lots of stitching.
The centre piece is a photo from Idea-ology photo booth, framed in an Idea-ology monocle...
I added lots of black cotton to circle it along with a
vintage pocket watch frame (from my own vintage stash)
I stamped over parts of the page using Tim's Birch and pine set...and the stars were distressed and added randomly. (I stamped in Archival ink.)
To finish I added some Idea-ology Remnant rub-ons and the words are from
the new releases of Idea-ology called Clippings...

I really appreciate you passing by, please feel free to leave a comment!

Im sorry its such a short post....hope to be back very soon!
Have a fabulous weekend!

Heart & Soul

Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
Wishing you a very Happy Valentines day...

A quick post today to share a project I made a while ago
I used an Idea-ology vignette panel as a base, covered in an original
 french bank statement from 1922.
I then took a laser (photocopy) copy of a photograph of one of my vintage photos and created a image transfer onto the panel.
I then added lots of layers, ephemera, old key, cogs, old buttons, etc.
I used distress paints and inks to distress the panel.
To finish I made a frame from an old ruler and placed the panel in the middle
The word is from the New Tim Holtz Quote chips and as it's valentine's I added some hearts.

As always feel free to leave a comment, I really appreciate you taking time out to comment.
Have yourselves a lovely week!
Bye for now

Sizzix

Hello friends
Hope you are good!
Its nearly February.....YAY! Im so pleased January is nearly out of the way....
I'm certainly not a fan of Jan!

Just a quick post today,  to share the last of my Creativation samples with you....

This sample is a real mash up of different Tim Holtz products... Ranger inks, Tim's distress paints, Idea-ology along with Sizzix
This piece lived on my desk for quite along time....I just kept adding lots of different elements to it as and when I could, even now looking at it I still want to add more!
The base is an Idea-ology panel frame, which I painted up and distressed using distress paints.
I added this cool paper doll from Idea-ology , along with a mix up of ephemera...
The pipes and cogs are the cool dies from Sizzix/Tim Holtz called "Industrial" and "Pipes"
These dies are a must....I really loved using them
I added lots of Idea-ology arrows, coloured with distress paints.
The ticket is from another Sizzix die "Tiny tabs and tags" (another must have die!)
The background is from the Memoranda paper stash, I've sewn into it, added splats of paint and also added lots of different washi tapes...
To finish I added some of the new Quote chips (Idea-ology)these can be coloured with paint or inks...

Again a Huge thank you to Tim, Mario, Paula and all the other lovely designers.....
its been so much fun to be a part of such a fabulous team!
As always feel free to leave a comment, I really appreciate you popping by...
