Tiny houses....

Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
Happy May day to you!
Sorry Ive not been around much....
Life has been pretty hectic of late
and Ive been really busy enjoying some much needed
 family/friends time!

Today I thought I would share a couple of Tiny houses from Tim Holtz/Sizzix
I love creating with this die...
( one of my favourites!)
After cutting the die out, I gessoed the chipboard.
Next I painted with distress paint,
when it was dry I sanded the colour back with some sandpaper to give a worn look.
I then painted them with vintage collage medium.
I mixed up some of the paper dolls with the botanical ephemera pack
I then added some clippings for the words and some of the Idea-ology tape
The stars are from Idea-ology too!

The paper dolls were painted with distress paints

I hope you like them!
As always feel free to leave a comment, I appreciate you popping by!
Have a lovely week!

Heart...

Hello friends!

Hope you you are all good!
Spring is finally here....thank goodness!
winter hung around...way too long!

It seems like ages since I used a tag in my work...
I had forgotten how much I love working on them,
its a great way to experiment with different mediums,
products and techniques....it's how I first got bitten by the ink bug!

So I started by creating lots of layers using gesso and distress paints
I lost count how many layers.......but it was many!
When I was happy with background I added a layer of the new Ranger Opaque crackle paste using a palette knife...
This product is so VERY cool! I think I will be using pots of it!
(I got mine from Art from the heart here)
When the paste had dried I added more layers using distress crayons, paints, stencils and stamps
(Tim Holtz -Birch and pine set and Correspondence)
The heart is a Sizzix thinlit, which also got the grunge treatment using the paste...
I added the words from Idea-ology "Clippings" and framed them with some rusty wire
To finish I added lots of stitching and some painty splats!
It was great to experiment with a new product, it helps revive the old mojo when its feeling a bit flat!

As always feel free to leave a comment, I really appreciate you passing by!
Have a great week!
Bye for now

Curious boys...

Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
Its been a super busy week here,
but I actually cleared my desk at the start of the week in a bid to be more organised....
it lasted 2 days.... I cannot find a thing!
Sigh....I'm resigned to the fact that I will never be tidy and I'm completely hopeless at being organised!

After all the excitement of the Creativation show, the postman bought me some happy mail             (available here)....as soon as I saw this sizzix die, I knew it would be in my shopping basket! Its called "Tiny Houses" by Tim Holtz....I think its one of my favourites ever!
The die not only cut but scores too, so makes it really easy to assemble, I covered my chipboard in Tim Holtz paper stash, then ran it though my machine.
I assembled the houses and stuck them down with collage medium

I then added lots of layers of distress paints, gesso, vintage medium and distress crayons to create a really grungy look.
Next I selected my Paper dolls ( Idea-ology) I chose these two brothers and painted them using distress paints.
I then Layered them on top of some cogs (Idea-ology) added some Remnant rub-ons, washi tape, a star, ruler for a chimney and words from  the clippings stickers
(All the Idea-ology and mediums are available from Art from the Heart here)
Nearly forgot...Those butterfly wings are from the new Idea-ology ephemera packs...you may need them too!

As always feel free to leave a comment, I really appreciate each and everyone!
Have yourselves a great weekend!

Sizzix

Hello friends
Hope you are good!
Its nearly February.....YAY! Im so pleased January is nearly out of the way....
I'm certainly not a fan of Jan!

Just a quick post today,  to share the last of my Creativation samples with you....

This sample is a real mash up of different Tim Holtz products... Ranger inks, Tim's distress paints, Idea-ology along with Sizzix
This piece lived on my desk for quite along time....I just kept adding lots of different elements to it as and when I could, even now looking at it I still want to add more!
The base is an Idea-ology panel frame, which I painted up and distressed using distress paints.
I added this cool paper doll from Idea-ology , along with a mix up of ephemera...
The pipes and cogs are the cool dies from Sizzix/Tim Holtz called "Industrial" and "Pipes"
These dies are a must....I really loved using them
I added lots of Idea-ology arrows, coloured with distress paints.
The ticket is from another Sizzix die "Tiny tabs and tags" (another must have die!)
The background is from the Memoranda paper stash, I've sewn into it, added splats of paint and also added lots of different washi tapes...
To finish I added some of the new Quote chips (Idea-ology)these can be coloured with paint or inks...

Again a Huge thank you to Tim, Mario, Paula and all the other lovely designers.....
its been so much fun to be a part of such a fabulous team!
As always feel free to leave a comment, I really appreciate you popping by...
Have a great week!
bye for now

Vintage panel

 Hello friends

Hope you are all good!
Ive had a really busy half term week, spending some quality time with my friends and family.....
(I can't believe how quick the week has passed!)

So a very quick post to share my latest make with you....
Ive used lots of Tim Holtz  Idea-ology, distress and Archival ink, oh and some of my own vintage finds....

I used parcel paper to create layers.....
I mounted it all onto a Tim Holtz cabinet card....
The ruler is vintage, I had to bring myself to cut it into pieces.....
The photograph is an original
I used one of theTim Holtz Sizzix thinlits dies (660220) cut it out then added more layers with vintage papers and farmed it with an Idea-ology frame

As always feel free to leave a comment, I really do appreciate each one xx

Ooo Before I go don't forget to check out the new  Tim Holtz Creative chemistry online classes here
Its a great way to learn new techniques, share ideas/connect with fellow students and be taught by the professor of distress himself...Tim Holtz!

Have yourselves a fabulous weekend
bye
