Hope you are all good!

The Easter holidays are over....

I'm back to the day job tomorrow....it's really 

going to be a struggle to get back into a routine!

So a really quick post to share with you this cover of a blank journal...

I started by applying a wash of Dylusions paint (dirty martini) and gesso to the cover of the book...

Then  re-using a polka-dot paper gift bag, I set about layering it with old text pages...

I then added more gesso and some of my new favourite slate grey, dylusions paint.

 The photo is from Tim Holtz photo booth, I also used some of Tim's  Idea-ology findings

 I added some vintage lace, some rusty wire and to finish I added some stitching. 

I added splats of ground coffee dylusions paint and re-purposed some ric rac ribbon that was originally on a gift bag I had....( Remember I hoard everything!)

Remember.....

Happy Halloween!

I said in my post yesterday that I would share with you a project Ive been working on....

its a really mash up of different products.

(I will list them all at the end of the post)

I wanted to create something a little bit grungy to go with this original vintage photograph

Im still very much experimenting with some of my Tando/Deco-art purchases. 

I used lots of crackle paint for the background on the tag....loving that crackle!

I created lots of layers using modelling paste, gesso and paints,

I used a dylusions stencil to get the background circles.....

The actual base is wood, bought from hobby craft.

I stamped using Amy Tangerine alpha stamps with black archival.

The screws and bolts are from Tando creative and I was inspired by Andy skinners technique, giving them that cool/rusty look.

The stars are small wooden christmas decorations that i stripped the colour off and painted using deco-art media paints.

The word remember is from Tim Holtz Idea-ology range, framed by a book plate from Tando

I really enjoyed creating this, although I realised how impatient I am when it comes to waiting for gesso/paint to dry!

A Trio of found Relatives

Hope you are all good!

Its been a busy couple of weeks....I've been busy enjoying the Easter break, some precious family time,  some days out oh and the odd bit of  of vintage shopping (oops! a little too much of that.... shhh!)

Anyway I've managed to get in some inky time....usually late at night when everyone has gone to bed and I eventually get time for me! 

.

I always hate wasting ink  on my heat mat so I always mop it up with tags in the hope I will use them in a project..... well that pile of mop up tags ended up as a big bag of tags, ( I'm such a hoarder!) so I thought I would try and use them in a project......

I started by selecting three different coloured tags 

I then grabbed my favourite Dylusion stencil (dotted flowers) and matched up distress inks to match the colour of the tags. 

I applied distress inks directly onto the stencil, then spritzed with water, this left beads of ink on top of the stencil....I then put my tag to the stencil, pressed down, lifted then dried  the tag with my heat tool.

To highlight the circles I used black pen and I used the new splatter brush to add paint (what a cool brush!)

The images are cut out from the Tim Holtz found relatives and are stuck to the tag using glossy accents

I repeated the process on all three tags.... added some stitching, stamped out a hat and mounted the tags onto black card

The words are from Idea-ology small talk and I've also added some Remnant rub-ons

I hope its inspired you (like me to hoard....) I mean use your mop up tags....

A little late Valentines......

Hello friends

Hope you are good!

I know, I know I've missed Valentines by a day......
I had good intentions to post this yesterday but I my camera
died and by the time I had new batteries it was too dark to photograph...
(Oh and I nearly burnt my house down too....but that's a whole other story!)
So after all that drama, here's my Valentines offering.....

I used the New Distress Marker spritzer to create the heart background

I soooo love this new tool........you can get some really great effects!

 The image is one of my vintage photos.....
Its a image transfer....

I layered it onto a doily and some mesh, then added some
Remnant rub-ons and tissue tape.
The bunting is from the Dylusions range available

and to finish I added some Idea-olgy

Dylusions and a catch up.....

 Hello friends

Hope you are all good!

I cant believe its nearly the end of January!!

time is just flying by!

Here's a dylusions page I created for CHA,

featuring some of the new Dylusions stamps....

(you can shop for them here at Art from the heart)

 the background was created with Dylusions inks 

I added stitches to the edges and the words.....

(check out the photos....

my 11 year old daughter is turning out to be a great little photographer) 

 So where have I been??

I know I've not been around much and I've neglected

my poor old blog!

Why???

Well at start of this year I went through some changes,

and without going into details

I had to make some tough decisions.....

not really how I had planned to start 2014!

But with change comes new beginnings

and one of the changes is that

 I've now got a new full time

 "pay the bills job"

( I really am, busier than ever but wouldn't have it any other way.... I'm loving it!)

Don't worry I won't be going anywhere,

I will still be creating...... 

just might not be posting as often as I would like too

so please bare with me while I adjust to

 juggling family, work, life and my little shabby shed,

A huge thank you for all your comments, e-mails and support

Dylusional CHA samples

 Hello friends

I'm back to share something a little different to my normal vintage style......

Here's a couple of dylusional CHA samples 

I created for our lady Dyan

using some of her new Dylusions stamps......

The flower stamps are so much fun.....you can layer them to make them 3D

The colours are dylusions inks, I love the number stamps.....perfect for creating backgrounds

I have to give credit to my 11 year old daughter who offered to photograph these using her new camera sent from Santa! (I think she may have a new job!)

I added some colour to the skeleton using Tim Holtz distress markers

I love this quote stamp......

"Life is art....live yours in colour"

Tag Calender

Hello friends

Hope you are all good!

Brrr........its turned a little chilly......

I think winter is well and truly on its way!

I've been digging out the thermals.......my shabby  shed is so cold!

So I decided I needed some gorgeous, bright, cheerful colours 

to brighten up the day

so reached for my Dylusions!

I decided to create a tag calender with a little pocket to add all those important dates!

it also allowed me to  use these cool little frames.....

( I ........er...... borrowed them from my daughters craft stash,  I'm proud to say that she has inherited my hoarding gene ............and boy she hoards some really cool things!) 

shhh.....don't tell her but I think they work perfectly with these cool dylusions skulls!

I created a background for each frame, then stitched some 

off cuts into each frame then added a skull

the skulls were given their very own  cool hats! 

I made a pocket  for the calender using black tags by ranger then stitched them together 

To finish I added a calender and a frame 

This was a really fun project to create....
