Together....

Hello friends

Hope you are all enjoying the beautiful summer....

If you are a regular follower of my blog you will know that Ive not been around much as Ive been

spending some much needed quality time with my friends and family, its been so busy trying to cram everything in but its been so much fun creating some great memories with them.

Although Ive been super busy.....Ive still managed to sneak in some much needed arty time 

(usually, very late at night while everyone is asleep and bonus.... plus extra bonus I get to watch the Olympics in Rio, its multi-tasking at its best!)

So I apologise for it being a very, very quick post,

I will leave you with some photographs of my end result.

I created lots of layers for this make, using gesso, I used the lace as a stencil and applied gesso through it to create a cool shabby plaster look. I also used lots of distress sprays/crayons/paints/archival ink and embellished it with vintage lace, beads, stitching and crochet flowers.....I picked the photograph up from a local car boot sale.

Again I really do apologise for it being a quick post....

She flies.....

 Hello friends

Hope you are all good!

Sorry I've not been around much at the mo, as its the summer holidays and I'm trying to cram in as much as I can with my family and friends,,,,

but I've managed to pop back in to share a quickie make I created.....

I've been catching up on creative chemistry 103 

and I've been so inspired to crack open all things inky!

(if you want to know more about creative chemistry 103, its not too late.....pop over here for the details, its full of  great techniques with tons of  fabulous inspiration)

So I got myself busy with pots of gesso, Tim Holtz texture paste and grit paste 

some stencils, distress paints/sprays and distress crayons

I created lots of texture using grit paste, gesso and texture paste, when it had dried I coloured using distress crayons and distress paints

I stamped out Papillon butterflies (Tim Holtz) and framed them with some rusty wire 

The number band is a vintage key fob ( one of my vintage finds) 

To attach the butterflies I sewed them in place with my sewing machine 

 I used Mixed media 2 stamp set in random areas and highlighted the stamping with a white gel pen

and I touched up the grit paste using distress crayons ( I just love the effect you get with them)

To finish I added the words from Idea-ology small talk

and sewed the edges of the black card.

Stronger.....

Hello friends!

Hope you are all good....

Ive just been away for a week with my family for some much needed R & R and it was bliss!

We walked for miles, talked, laughed/cried, ate lots and made some fabulous memories...

It was just perfect!

While I was away I took lots of inspiration from the coastline, the rocks, the textures, the colours....the list goes on, (My family always tease me for taking up close photographs of rocks, wood, well pretty much anything that inspires me, I always hear them say "Here she goes again!"

I knew I wanted to create a piece that reflected some of the inspiration 

so here's what I put together.....

I create lots of layers using Ranger Texture paste, Tim Holtz stencils and stamps 

I stamped text using Ranger  black Archival and using Tim's stamp sets - Mixed Media 2, Correspondence and Newsprint and type, the words are from chit chat book (Idea-ology)

I used Sizzix thinlits (Mixed media) around the photo and lots of stitching along with some Remnant rub-ons.

To colour I used lots of Distress crayons, distress paints (black and white) and distress stain(Hickory smoke) distress mica spray (antiqued bronze)

To create the splatters I used a Tim Holtz splatter brush

I really enjoyed creating this....One of those pieces that I had to stop myself from adding more!
